    We manufacture and refurbish railway high-grade passenger coaches and high-speed EMUs (manufactured by the joint venture BST); Refurbishing, assembling and rebuilding of rail transit equipment, such as various types of locomotives, passenger coaches, rapid transit vehicles, and so on; Manufacturing of road-rail vehicles and different types of special railway cars; Manufacturing of accessories for railway locomotives, and passenger coaches; Technical service for locomotive and rolling stock; Metal hot-working, export and import and other business.


    The company has five major industrial structures and manufacturing bases, covering manufacturing of railway high-grade passenger coaches, refurbishing of railway high-grade passenger coaches, manufacturing of spare parts for locomotive and rolling stock and energy corollary equipment, casting and forging and logistics. Our Parent Company, CRRC Sifang Company, Ltd. has been in existence for 117 years.


    In 2016, CRRC Sifang America was awarded a contract, for up to $1.3 billion, by the CTA to supply more than 840 new railcars. CRRC Sifang America believes Chicago’s new railcars should be built locally and will hire and train local residents for more than 160 good-paying, head-of-household jobs.



    The production electrical supervisor is responsible for supervising workshop and commissioning employees in CRRC’s manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and recommends improvements in production safety, methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
    • Manage infractions of inappropriate use, wearing, or not wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Report accidents, and participate in, and assist with production related accident investigations
    • Coordinate installation & testing of specialized equipment & trucks in production workshop
    • Coordinate rework, repair & test in commissioning room
    • Provide coaching, training, and retraining as necessary, to production employees & apprentices
    • Create & maintain a productive, efficient, safe, and positive work environment
    • Create & maintain documents in compliance with Car History Book requirements and CRRC Quality standards
    • Monitor quality of individual employee and team job performance; regularly issue job performance progress reports to the Production Manager
    • Maintain effective lines of communication between Production Department employees, between Production Department employees & management, and between Production Department employees & staff in other departments
    • Participate in training and productivity improvement activities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency
    • Coordinate with Logistic Department to retrieve and transport railcar equipment and parts to production floor for assembly
    • Supervise & report the resolution of Quality Department railcar parts/ equipment non-conformity & abnormality citations
    • Ability to work at various heights above the ground including on top of railcars
    • Verify & supervise the quality of installation work
    • Verify & supervise properly calibrated tools are being used & documented accordingly
    • Supervise & maintain proper inventory levels for Production Department hardware & consumables
    • Ability to read & understand drawings & technical diagrams
    • Supervise & ensure compliance with Production Department 3 day schedules
    • Manage & report Company Policy violations
    • Perform any other work assigned by the Production Manager

    Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen.  the employee frequently is required to: stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to: sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee  must frequently life up to 30 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.



    Education and/or Experience


    • Must be able to read, write, understand and communicate effectively in English
    • Verifiable experience in electrical wiring processes, electronics, control systems, AC/DC or training in similar fields
    • Associates degree and/or 5 yrs. of experience in the railcar industry
    • Familiar with manual assembly process and unionized environment
    • Ability to compose and implement new policies


    • Experience with commercial/ industrial electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and connections
    • 2+ years of progressive experience with supervising production activities in rolling stock, aviation, or heavy trucking assembly industry
    • Proficient in MS Office software; proficient in ERP systems
